S2E14 Jessica "Jess" Weatherall (Surfing, Science, and Choosing Joy) Pt. 1

Born and raised on the Gold Coast, Australia, Jess Weatherall is definitely living her best beach life. We spoke about her love of surfing,  career as a Senior Medical Education Officer in the Emergency Department at Gold Coast Health, myths and misconceptions about doctors, being a late 'dating' bloomer, social media and self perception, the ups and downs of family life, and the 'Humans In Health' podcast she co-hosts alongside Brooke Bullock.

This is a two part episode, stay tuned for the second half where Jess will discuss how she didn't initially feel the calling to be a mother, postnatal depression, learning to rely on others and ask for help, growing up with semi-famous father and his 'uber' optimistic outlook on life, her new found love of the martial art Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), and why she  holds to the motto  "choosing yourself is choosing joy".
